Alejandro Aleman enjoyed life in his home country of Costa Rica; he worked with a successful company and was surrounded by friends. Despite all this, he decided to immigrate in order to explore the bounty of opportunities in the U.S.
Born in 1974, Mr. Aleman grew up in San José, the capital city of Costa Rica. He completed his undergraduate degree and turned to the U.S. for further education. In 2004, Alejandro earned his Master’s of Law from Columbia University. During his studies, he was struck by the opportunities available, especially for his field. Mr. Aleman realized that he would want to come back to the U.S. for his career.
Alejandro returned to his native Costa Rica and began working at a prestigious law firm. After working there for several years, he decided to move to California in 2007. Despite his profession success in his home country, Mr. Aleman struggled to find work. He held several different survival jobs before finding his current position.
Currently, Mr. Aleman is a project manager for Tetra Tech DPK. Although he no longer practices law, he still contributes to the field by helping to implement rule of law projects throughout the world. Alejandro lives in Alameda, California with his wife and son.
