To date we’ve recorded over 230 life stories of immigrants coming from 95 different countries. Our storytellers are first generation immigrants who have moved to the US during their life time and have lived in the US a minimum of 2 years. All immigrants that decided to share their story with GCV are asked six open-ended questions. In addition, they are asked to share personal photos of their life in the country of birth and in the US. The video narratives are edited down to 5 minute videos filled with personal photographs, intro, outro, captions, logo and background music. We share these video stories on our website www.greencardvoices.org and Green Card Voices YouTube Channel. If you would like to share your story send an email to email@example.com to schedule your time in the recording studio. Our regular recording studio is located at the INTERMEDIA ARTS, 2822 Lyndale Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55408. On occasion, a different venue is used.
If you’d like to partner with us to record stories of first generation immigrants that are your employees, alumni, clients or neighbours – contact us! To date we have partnered with nonprofit organizations (International Institute of Minnesota, Upwardly Global, Swedish American Institute), corporations (MN Twins), government entities (Willmar Vision 2040), universities (Macalester College) and schools (Wellstone International High School, Fargo South High School).
